Once the key fob is within range, the antennas receive the signal from the RFID tag, and the control unit processes this information. The control unit verifies the authenticity of the key fob by checking its unique identification number against a stored database. If the identification is confirmed, the control unit sends a signal to the electronic lock mechanism, allowing the doors to unlock.

The advantages of passive keyless entry systems include enhanced convenience, as users can unlock their vehicles without needing to fumble for a key, and increased security, as the system can be designed to prevent unauthorized access. Additionally, these systems can be integrated with other vehicle features, such as starting the engine or adjusting settings based on the driver's preferences.
